Our assignment
for this week is:
Well
at the end of part one we have the US flag. Your assignment
this week is to post your flag made in class and then..........make
some more flags. ;o) You can show the flag for your particular
country , hobby, your favorite sport, holiday, season, etc.
You
should have 3 flags on your page the one from class and
2 others of your design. ;o)
Happy
Creating!!
Here
is my US flag.
I thought
about creating a New Jersey flag since that's where I live
but, it's a flag with a solid background with a very ornate
design. I thought it would be too easy to make a flag with
the correct color for the background and then just edit/copy
and edit/paste (from another flag) the design onto the background.
;-) So, I decided to create the Colorado flag since that's
where I grew up. For the C and the yellow circle inside, I
used the circle preset shape. The C being much larger than
the yellow. I placed them on separate layers. When I got the
size I wanted, I did an edit/cut, edit/paste as new layer.
This placed the circles in the middle of the image and more
important, the yellow in the middle of the red. ;-) To finish
the C, I just cut out the section I didn't want. Then, I merged
the 2 layers and moved the a bit to the left. Here's my Colorado
flag.
I
love to tap dance and am in my 6th year of lessons. So, I
decided to make a flag for my tap dance hobby. I found the
tap dancer on arttoday.com and added an Eye Candy 3.1 (this
comes with the Anniversary Edition of Paint Shop Pro 7) Inner
Bevel to him. Also, I added a slight drop shadow to him. For
the text, I used 3 layers, one for the text itself, another
on top for a slight cut out effect and one below the text
for a slight drop shadow. I like to use separate layers for
different effects so I can adjust the transparency for that
effect. For the background gradient I used the Foreground-Background
gradient, linear gradient style, angle 90 and 3 repeats. Here's
my tap dance flag.
