Our assignment for this week is:

As this is 3-week assignment, we have decided to let you concentrate on the Snowglobe, as it is a rather intense project. For this week, we have a couple of ideas for you, rather than an assignment as such.

When you are finished making your snow template, you can recycle it.

1/ Use your snow template again by making it into a tube. Promote the background layer to a layer, and then click away all the black with the magic wand. Once all the black's gone, and you have a whole lot of little white spots on a transparent background, you can save it as either a .tub file or as a .psp file.

2/ Save the snow template as a .bmp file and use it as a pattern. Move this image over to your PSP Pattern Folder where you can access it from the Pattern flyout on the Colour Palette.

3/ Save the snow template as a texture file. Make it into a greyscale image, save it as a .bmp file and move it over into your PSP Texture folder.

And thats it for this week! We hope you have a lot of fun making your snowglobe :o) If you would like to use your tube or pattern to create a snow scene out of an image and post it on your homework page; you are welcome to do so and email your Facilitator. However it is not mandatory that you do this. ;o) Have fun with your snow!

Here is the snow globe I made in class with only the first snow layer showing. I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out in the next 2 lessons. I plan on making more snow globes and am now searching for just the right images to use.

Using my snow pattern, I created a couple of snow scenes using some digital photos I took in Norway during my summer 2000 trip. I added a few more clouds to the first photo since it was quite sunny that day.

Thanks, Rosebear!
