Leather Bound Book - Part 2
Our assignment
for this week is:
The
assignment this week is to create your very own library.
Display at least four books of your own creation including
the one from the tutorial. You may display them as a group
or as individual pieces. Now is the chance to publish all
of those great books that you, or someone you know, have
been putting off for years! Have fun!
Here is
the book I did using the instructions from the online class.
We finished the book we started last week:
These
are the other 3 books I made:

After
I made a tribute
page, I needed to do something more so,
I made a Book of Condolences. With the wonderful outpouring
from all over the world, I made a big book to hold all
of the condolences from around the world. For the dark
red, I used R: 128, G: 0, B: 0 and for the lighter red,
I used R: 192, G: 0, B: 0. For the pages, I drew the
circle 50x50 and the rectangle 50x about 280. For the
title text, I used R: 0, G: 0, B: 192. For the cutout,
I used the settings in the tutorial. I added a drop
shadow with Vertical = 0, Horizontal = 0, Blur = 6 and
Opacity = 100. I used the same settings for the stars
but adjusted the Opacity to 60 on the cutout settings.
To make the stars, I used the Preset Shapes tool. While
drawing the stars, I used the shift key. The picture
is part of a picture my Dad sent to me. I wish I knew
the origin so I could give proper credit. To add depth,
I also added a cutout and drop shadow to the picture.
I added the drop shadow twice using Vertical = 1 and
Horizontal = 1 the first time and Vertical = -1 and
Horizontal = -1 the second time.

I
wanted to make a scrapbook for my photos from a trip
I took to Norway in July of 2000. I wanted it to be
shaped more like the long and narrow scrapbooks. For
the dark brown, I used a setting of R: 90, G: 50, B:
40 and for the light brown, I used a setting of R: 104,
G: 60, B: 50. Since my scrapbook has few pages than
my first book, I drew a white circle of 30x30 and a
white rectangle of 30x300. For the cover, I used 3 of
my Norway images and resized them small enough to fit
on the cover.

For
this book, I followed the tutorial without much deviation
(I was getting tired <g>). For the lettering I
applied Copper instead of Gold. I also added a drop
shadow with Vertical = 0, Horizontal = 0, Opacity =
100 and Blur = 10.
