Our assignment for this week is:

Your assignment this week is to create and post your snowy web page that we did in class. Next, with the techniques you learned in the snowy web page tutorial, you are requested to create an entry-level webpage for a mountain ski resort called "Babblin' Brook Lodge".

Use whatever imagery you like to create the lodge an attractive and inviting webpage - instead of the planet image, use something else that will compliment a ski resort. Use another shape of snowflake - or any other shape, for that matter.

Also, you are requested to add a main image to the page, one that will give site visitors an idea of what the site is about. Examples are perhaps a picture of a lodge on a snowy mountain, or an image of a person ski-ing, a piece of clipart depicting snow on trees.. whatever suits your fancy. It could even be the image that you used to create the sidebar. Also, add the name of the ski lodge to this image in an inviting and eye-catching manner.

Besides the main pictoral image which you have manipulated and put together for this page, the page must consist of the following navigation and design elements:

Sidebar
buttons .. one for About, one for Rates, one for Email and one for Next. At least 1 banner-type graphic depicting whatever you desire.

You can of course, add any other elements you like .. eg, horizontal bars and such.

For this page, I used the elements we made in class. For my homework, I used #303872 as the color for the second darker color in the gradient. I also used that color for the graphics at the top of the page and the text of the page. For the sidebar, I found a lovely snow covered mountain picture from arttoday.com (see below). I mirrored the image so the ski runs were on the left side of the picture. Then, using the crop tool, I used only the portion of the image so it's size would be the same as planet1.jpg. I used the snowflake just to the right of the one we used in class so it would be a bit different. For the main image, I used another one from arttoday.com. Since I didn't want to detract from the sidebar image, I placed my buttons at the bottom of the page. Click here to see the page I made for the "Babblin' Brook Lodge."

Thanks Rosebear!
